In Memory Of William Bailey, former Marieville volunteer FF

 

 

                William P. Bailey, Jr., 79, of Lincoln Avenue died Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at home. He was the husband of the late Barbara L. (Ebner) Bailey.

Born in Cumberland, a son of the late William P. and Delia (Crowley) Bailey, he had lived in North Providence for the past 56 years.

Mr. Bailey was a boiler operator for NYNEX, now Verizon for 25 years before retiring in 1993. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He also was a teacher in the Coventry School System teaching Industrial Arts at the Middle School and High School for over 20 years retiring in 1992.

He was a communicant of the Church of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, North Providence and was a Past President of the Holy Name Society of the Church. He was a member of Bouffard Council Knights of Columbus, North Providence; the Smithfield Elks; the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick; Past President of the Lincoln AARP; the Cumberland Seniors; the St. Patrick’s Seniors; the Marieville Volunteer Fire Department; and the Boy Scout Troop #5, Marieville.

He is survived by four daughters, Sharon L. Bailey of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Linda S. Mullaney of Warwick, Sheila L. McElroy of Stafford, VA and Melissa S. Wall of Madison, AL; two sons, William P. Bailey of Pleasanton, CA and Brian P. Bailey of Lincoln; ten grandchildren; one great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Helen Eddleston Dubois and Elizabeth Kingsley.

His funeral will be held MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 12 at 8:30 A.M. from BELLOWS- FALSO FUNERAL CHAPEL, 160 River Road, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in the Church of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 1081 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland.
