Raymond J. Parenteau
PARENTEAU, RAYMOND J. 85, of Smithfield, died at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center while surrounded by his family on February 28th.  Ray was a retired North Providence Police mechanic and a former mechanic at Dave's Garage in Smithfield.  He was President and a Life Member of the Centredale Volunteer Fire Association.  He was a member of the Tuesday Senior bowling league at Town Hall Lanes, Johnston and a volunteer at Elmhurst Extended Care Facility.  Ray was preceded in death by his parents, George and Emma (Lambert) Parenteau, his sisters, Beatrice Parenteau, Rosalie Darby and Olive Breckel.  He is survived by his "ever lovin' wife" Barbara (Darby); his children, Janice Russo and her husband Stephen of Winston-Salem NC, Jean Buckley of Smithfield and Capt. (NPFD) Richard Parenteau and his wife Deirdre of Brooklyn CT; his grandchildren Jason, Samantha, Danielle and Ryan; and his great-granddaughter, Anabel.  His funeral will be held Friday at 10 AM from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave. North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. Michael Church, Smithfield.  Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.  Calling hours Thursday 4-8 PM.
