In Memory Of James McKenna, former Fruit Hill volunteer FF

 

 

James J. McKenna                McKenna, James J. "Jimbo", 56, of Tuscola Ave, passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at his home. He was the son of Gerard E. and Mary Ellen (Power) McKenna.

Jimbo was employed for 28 years at the former Delta Drug in North Providence. He was a past President and current Treasurer of the Shamrock Society of North Providence. He was a past Lieutenant of the Fruit Hill Volunteer Fire Department. He was a graduate of La Salle Adademy in 1973.

Besides his parents, he is survived by his bothers, Gerard E. McKenna of Providence, Chief William M. McKenna, CFD of Cranston, Kevin P. McKenna and his wife, Laurie of Providence, John L. McKenna, retired Fire Chief, EGFD and his wife, Janice of North Providence; his sisters, Maureen A. Del Sesto and her husband, William of North Providence and Kathleen T. Marciano of North Providence; 12 nieces and nephews and 2 great nieces.

His funeral will be held on Monday, at 8:45 am in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith St., Providence. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am in Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, Fourth St., North Providence.Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery , Pawtucket. Visiting hours, Sunday, 4-8 pm.
