UNSWORTH, GREGORY J. (CPT., NPFD), 46, died February 29, 2012 at the Rhode Island Hospital. He was the son of Joseph H. and Judith (Schenck) Unsworth of North Providence. A lifelong resident of North Providence, he currently was the Town's Fire Marshal. He started his career with the fire department as a volunteer when he was sixteen years old. He was a firefighter for many years before being appointed to his current position. He was a graduate of North Providence High School, a fourth degree knight with the Bouffard Council Knights of Columbus, an avid golfer, and a member of the Louisquisset Golf Club. Besides his parents, Gregory leaves a sister, Kerri Smith of North Providence, a brother, Joseph Todd Unsworth and his wife Maureen of West Greenwich, two nephews, three nieces, and a great nephew. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 10 AM in St. Anthony Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence. Burial will be private.
