He was the husband of Dolores (Camuso) Eley; they had
been married for 57 years. Born in Providence, a son of the late Arthur C. and
Mildred F. (Schatzman) Eley, he had lived in North Providence sine 1960. He was
an Army veteran of World War II. He was a driver/groundman for Narragansett
Electric Company for 33 years, retiring in 1985, and was also a volunteer
firefighter with the town of North Providence for 23 years with the rank of
captain. He was a past president of Woonasquatucket Valley Fireman's League
and a committeeman for Boy Scout Troop #33 in North Providence. Besides his wife
he leaves four children, Thomas F. Eley of Burrillville, Michael R. Eley and
Lynn E. Robinson, both of Warwick, and Norma J. Rubino of Greenville; two
brothers, George C. Eley of Cranston and Arthur
W. Eley of Surprise, Ariz.; a sister, Lillian Dann of North Providence; and 12
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
