DiGIULIO,
BERNARD D. "UNCLE B" (RET. LT. N.P.F.D.), 86, passed away January 27th
in the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center surrounded by his loving family. Born in
Johnston, he was the son of the late Anthony and Mary (Lombardi) DiGiulio. He
was the beloved husband of the late A. Maureen (Landry) DiGiulio. He worked for
various construction companies throughout his life. He
was one of the first 10 members hired as a member of Local 2334, life member of
the Centredale Fire Dept, Woonasquatucket Valley Firemen's League, RI State
Fireman's League,
Smithfield Memorial V.F. W. Post 2929, Smithfield Senior Center, A. A. R. P.,
N.P. Retired Police
Officers and Firefighters.
Bernard was a WWII Navy
Veteran with the Seabees in the South Pacific from 1944-1946. He also was an
avid Yankees fan. Bernard was the father of Deborah A. Voller; grandfather of
David P, Jr. and Dayna A. Voller; brother of Rita Ruggiano, Anne Hawkins and the
late Edward A. DiGiulio. Visitation will be held Thursday, 4-8 p.m. with a
funeral on Friday at 8:15 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Funeral Home, 971
Branch Avenue, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30
a.m. in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Smithfield, followed by burial with
Military Honors in the RI Veteran's Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers,
